Instrument Rating

An Instrument Rating expands the privileges of a pilot, allowing for operations in a wider range of weather conditions. It will broaden your flying possibilities and enhance your expertise in aviation. Here are some benefits of holding an Instrument Rating:

The Requirements

  • Hold at least a Private Pilot Certificate

  • Have Logged at least 50 Hours of Cross-Country Flight Time as Pilot-in-Command

  • 40 Hours Total of Actual or Simulated Instrument Time

  • At least 15 Hours of Instrument Flight Training from an Authorized Instructor

    • A Cross-Country Flight 250 NM

  • Written Exam

  • Checkride (Oral + Practical)
